Impact of psychosocial risk on the work environment, case study: Hotels in Acapulco de Juárez Municipality, Guerrero

This research focuses on identifying the social and phycological risks caused by hurricane Otis on the SMEs workers on the hotel industry in Acapulco de Juarez, Guerrero.
The sample used for this study was applied on 68 workers who were interviewed to found about their: social, geographical, phycological, professional performance and development, work environment, and further questions to support the research.
Among these findings the most important data is that 68% of the subjects answered they feel affected on social and phycological level on the work environment. 63% feel they have suffered social and phycological risks caused by hurricane Otis and 76% feel affected the work environment. Further findings show that 66% suffered from PTS syndrome, and 74% feel risk at a social and phycological level. 72% shows high level of psychosocial risk. Related items with the most psychosocial result correspond to a feeling of trust among each other, indicating that higher feelings generated in work activities are associated with a less positive work environment; and higher mutual trust is associated with a less positive work environment.
