En la actualidad, las instituciones educativas trabajan en un ambiente debidamente preestablecido por su propia reputación o por falta de la misma. Una universidad desconocida no arranca de cero; asimismo todo aquel con quien tiene que tratar comienza con un gran número de dudas negativas sobre ella, las cuales pueden verse disminuidas a medida que aumenta la familiaridad con la misma. La imagen de una institución educativa es gobernada por seis factores; la realidad de la misma institución, la medida en que la institución y sus actividades hagan noticia, su diversidad, su esfuerzo de comunicaciones, el tiempo y el desvanecimiento de la memoria en la opinión pública. Los mensajes positivos y negativos que emite una institución crean con el tiempo, un cuerpo de reconocimiento, una familiaridad y una actitud en la sociedad.Downloads
