EQUIDAD E INEQUIDADES EN SALUD: HACIA UN ENFOQUE INTEGRAL DE LOS DETERMINANTES SOCIALES EN SALUD

RESUMEN Este artículo presenta una propuesta integral para el análisis de equidad en salud como elemento fundamental en el estudio de los determinantes sociales de la salud. Partiendo de las diferentes concepciones de equidad, se revisaron documentos clave en el desarrollo del concepto de equidad, se desarrolla una propuesta a partir de resultados de investigación sobre equidad en salud en el contexto de las reformas de la salud en México. Desde una perspectiva integral, se propone definir y operacionalizar a la equidad en salud, en principio como la asignación de recursos en función de las necesidades de salud y del nivel de ingreso económico de los usuarios, de las familias, de la población o del grupo prioritario que se trate, incluyendo para su análisis en un primer nivel los enfoques, teorías y principios que condicionan variables como: disponibilidad, acceso, utilización, cobertura, condiciones de salud, disparidades sociales y asignación de recursos. ABSTRACT This article presents an integral proposal for health equity analysis as a key element in the study of social determinants of health. Based on the different conceptions of equity, key documents were reviewed in developing the concept of fairness, a proposal is based on the results of research on health equity in the context of health reforms in Mexico. From a holistic perspective, is to define and operationalize equity in health, in principle the allocation of resources according to health needs and income level of users, families, population or group question of priority, including for a first level analysis approaches, theories and principles that determine variables such as availability, access, utilization, coverage, health conditions, social disparities and resource allocation.Downloads
