José Agustín, oriundo de Acapulco, Guerrero (1944), es ampliamente reconocido por una novedosa y particular trayectoria. Pionero de a generación de escritores que se autodenominó “La literatura de la onda” de los años 60, donde sobresalen sus obras: La tumba (1964); De perfil (1966) y Esta haciendo
tarde, fina en laguna (1968), con la que obtuvo el “Premio Dos Océanos” de Festival de Biarritz, Francia. Ganador también del “Premio de Narrativa de Colima” en 1984 por su novela Ciudades Desiertas, cambia el estilo en forma paulatina y realiza potras dos novelas importantes: Cerca de Fuego (1986) y Dos Horas de Sol (1994).
