PERCEPCIÓN SOCIAL DEL RIESGO DE DESASTRES INDUSTRIALES Y DE DAÑOS A LA SALUD EN HABITANTES CERCANOS AL COMPLEJO PETROQUÍMICO COSOLEACAQUE

El artículo describe la percepción del riesgo de desastres industriales y de daños a la salud en pobladores de la colonia Oaxaqueña, a un costado del Complejo Petroquímico Cosoleacaque, en Veracruz. OBJETIVO: Describir la percepción del riesgo de desastres, daños a la salud y disposición de cambio de residencia en habitantes alrededor del Complejo Petroquímico Cosoleacaque. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Se utiliza una metodología cuantitativa, transversal y descriptiva. Parte de las preguntas: ¿Qué nivel de riesgo de desastres y de daños a su salud perciben los habitantes?, ¿Qué disposición tienen al cambio de residencia?, ¿cuentan con información sobre qué hacer en caso de un desastre industrial? Se eligió una manzana cercana al complejo, compuesta por 95 viviendas particulares. La muestra es de 77 encuestas, con un nivel de confianza del 95% y un margen de error del 0.05. RESULTADOS: Perciben un alto riesgo de desastres y de daños a la salud. Están dispuestos a reubicarse a propuesta de la industria o del gobierno. CONCLUSIONES: Se debe informar a los pobladores sobre qué hacer en un accidente industrial, reconocer los signos y síntomas de una intoxicación por amoniaco y las rutas de evacuación.Downloads
