El quehacer de las universidades, desde siempre ha incluido actividades de colaboración con el sector social a través de programas en el área de la salud, destacando el servicio social comunitario y las prácticas profesionales de los Programas Educativos (PE) como: Medicina, Enfermería, Odontología, por nombrar algunos. Sin embargo, hay que reconocer que este quehacer de colaboración universidad-sociedad, en la década de los 60´s-70’s, tuvo mayor énfasis con el sector productivo. En la década de los 80´s con el Modelo Neoliberal, se da un reajuste y racionalización financiera a los sistemas educativos, consecuentemente se entabla una relación más profunda del sector educativo con el Estado y la sociedad. Son los organismos internacionales de financiamiento que intervienen y canalizan con los países, las condiciones para el financiamiento en la evolución educativa incluyendo la educación universitaria, además de establecer recomendaciones de organización y funcionamiento académica en las universidades (Llomovate, 2006).Downloads
