Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements:
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the editor).
- The submission file must be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
- Whenever possible, URLs are provided for references.
- If the manuscript is submitted to a peer-reviewed section, the instructions described under Peer Review Process have been followed.
- The text must comply with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors.
- The manuscript must be formatted with 1.5-line spacing, Arial 12-point font, italics rather than underlining (except for URLs), and all illustrations, figures, and tables inserted in the appropriate locations within the text rather than placed at the end.
Editorial
These are invited contributions commissioned by the journal. The structure of this type of document does not require an abstract, keywords, or any methodological section. Likewise, these contributions are not subject to peer review.
Original Article
Its content must present original scientific research. Manuscripts must include a title page containing the title of the paper, full names of the authors, academic degrees, academic or organization affiliation, and the name and current address of the corresponding author.
The manuscript file must be submitted in Microsoft Word (Windows) format.
The maximum length of the manuscript, including appendices, must not exceed 18 pages.
The article must include the following sections:
Abstract in Spanish: presented on a separate page and limited to a maximum of 200 words, indicating separately:
-Purpose of the study (OBJECTIVE)
-Basic procedures, including sample section and analytical and observational methods (MATERIAL AND METHODS)
-Main findings, including specific data and, whenever possible, statical significance (RESULTS).
-Relevant conclusions and the originality of the research (CONCLUSIONS).
Keywords: A minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 keywords (Languages: English and Spanish).
Introduction: This section should include the background, statement of the problem, and the objective of the study in a continuous narrative format supported by relevant literature.
Materials and Methods: The characteristics of the sample and the methods used must be clearly described, including the appropriate references, so that other researchers may replicate similar studies. Statical methods must be clearly identified and accompanied by the corresponding references.
Results: This section should present the principal findings of the study, supported only by the figures necessary to expand upon the information provided in the text.
Discussion: Results should be compared with those reported in the literature and discussed in relation to the objectives and hypotheses established in the study.
References: A minimum of 15 references is required. Sources may be up to five years older than the submission date, except in cases involving classic literature, historical background, or highly relevant sources for the research. Thesis:
Autor, A. A. (1978). Title of the doctoral or master’s thesis (Unpublished doctoral dissertation or master’s thesis). Name of the institution, Location.
Tables: Tables must be presented with double spacing and numbered consecutively using Roman numerals in order in which they are cited in the text. Titles should appear above the tables, while abbreviations and explanatory notes should be included below.
Figures: Figures must be professionally prepared or photographed on appropriate paper measuring 12.7 x 17.3 cm (5 x 7 inches). Lettering, numbers and symbols must be large enough to remain legible after reduction. Halftone photographs must be of excellent quality with adequate contrast and submitted unmounted. Figures may be submitted electronically in any of the following formats: JPG, TIF, PNG, PPT, or XLS. Images must have a resolution of at least 150 dpi.
Figure captions must be typed doble-spaced on a separate page and numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. Any symbols used must be explained, and staining methods and/or scales should be specified whenever applicable.
Essay
This section serves as an open forum for relatively brief general-interest papers in which authors may express their views on a specific topic within the economic and administrative sciences.
The maximum length for this section must not exceed 13 pages. Citation style and bibliography requirements must follow the same guidelines established for other manuscript types.
The organization of sections is left to the author’s discretion.
The essay must include an abstract in Spanish of no more than 200 words, indicating the purpose of the paper and presenting the authors viewpoint based previously established objective information, as well as relevant conclusions and the originality of the contribution. An English translation of the abstract must also be provided.
The manuscript file must be submitted in Microsoft Word (Windows) format.
Review
A review provides an overview of work’s content by highlighting its most significant aspects, essential ideas, objectives, purpose, and other complementary elements, while reflecting the reviewer’s critical opinion.
Copyright Notice
As a manuscript submission requirement, authors must submit a duly completed Copyright Transfer Agreement, which serves as evidence that Hitos de Ciencias Económico Administrativas holds the publication rights to the submitted document(s) from that moment onward.
